<div itemprop="description">Brampton – Donald Frank Burrell, 91, died Saturday May 21, 2016 at the Brampton Civic Hospital after a brief illness. <br>He leaves his wife of 65 devoted years, Winnifred (Hall) Burrell; his daughter Susan Wallace, son-in-law Kim; son, Brian Burrell, daughter-in-law Heather Code-Burrell, daughter Dawn-Heather Ellis, son-in-law Michael Ellis and son-in-law Christiaan; his 7 grandchildren Patrick, Caitlin, Christopher, Alison, Gillian, Lauren, Elize and Zachary will also miss him dearly. Big brother to Ken Burrell and much loved uncle to many nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud. He was predeceased by his cherished daughter Maureen, his sisters Audrey and Hilda and his brother Hedley. <br>Born in Chatham Ontario and the oldest son to Archie and Violet Burrell, Don was a WWII veteran, having served in the RCAF as a Radio Mechanic, posted to Mosquito Nightfigher Squadron #409 2nd T.A.F and then to the #437 Squadron, now based in Trenton.<br>An avid gardener, active Probus member, globe-trotter and devoted Canadian Nationalist, Don and his wife Wynn enjoyed many exciting journeys with their friends of over 50 years, Trudy and Tony Hamma. In his lifetime he was a ‘newsie’, a disc jockey, radio mechanic, successful salesman, Scout Leader, curler, photographer, windsurfer, paddler, world traveller, volunteer and a captivating storyteller who loved to laugh and to make people smile. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, friend and a good neighbour to many. <br>He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.<br>Friends will be received at the Scott Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel" 289 Main St. N. Brampton, on Friday May 27, 2016 from 6 - 8 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment in Meadowvale Cemetery.<br></div>
