<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Joe on May 6, 2016 with his cherished wife Lisa by his side. Joe is re-united in heaven with his loving parents Mary and Rocco and siblings Joseph and Margaret. Devoted father of Lisa Sargeant, Christine Samson, Sandra O’Donohue (Raymond), Sarah Centrone (Philip), Natalie Polito and Paul Ramirez. Loving grandfather of Victoria, Daniel, Keaton, Jason, Liam, James, Sophia, Colin and Marko. He will be deeply missed by his Aunt Dorothy, first wife Louise as well as his many cousins, in-laws and extended family members. Joe was President of Caledonia Produce Distributors and the Greengrocer Inc. He will be remembered by his many employees past and present for his kindness and generosity. He will be sadly missed by the entire produce community including customers, growers, brokers, suppliers, tradesmen and members of the CPMA, OPMA, QPMA, PMA and the DRC for his unique passion for produce. His absence will be felt by many members of the Ontario equestrian community including Caledon Dressage, for his participation as both an owner and sponsor. The Flatliners will miss Joe for all the ways he helped them become the success that they are today. He was a free spirited, caring, capable, admirable person who loved people. His many kind deeds will continue to live in all those who benefited. He was tremendously generous and fair minded. He also stood up to people who picked on others and he was a living example of someone who strove to do the right thing. He was the kind of person who made the world a better place. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Joe’s caregivers: Monica, Thelma and Lorna for their compassionate care. They’d also like to thank the nurses and doctors at both the Brampton Civic and Trillium Hospitals and a special thank you to Dr. Harry Earle and his office for the many years of care provided to Joe. Sincere thanks to the first responders of Caledon: Fire Dept., Paramedics and the OPP officers for their quick response and kind words during a sad and difficult time. Friends will be received at the Scott Funeral Home “Brampton” Chapel (289 Main Street North) on Thursday May 12, 2016 from 7-9 pm and Friday May 13, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church (2 Richardson Avenue) on Saturday May 14, 2016 at 9:30 am. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery to follow.
