Born on March 22, 1941 in Liverpool England and passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Bethell House Hospice on Sunday, July 17, 2016. Derek moved to Canada with his beloved wife Valerie in 1967. Loving father to Mark (Kelli) and Colin (Lexie). Cherished Grandfather to Kaitlin, Madison, George, Montana, and Brennan. He will be sadly missed by his brother’s Roy and Barry and sisters Antoinette Owens and Veronica Morton as well as his Sister-in-Law Margeret Cameron. Derek worked at Royal Containers for 35 years as plant manager and was one of the founding employees. He was also a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15 in various executive rolls, and an avid supporter of his hometown Liverpool football club. Family and friends will be received at the SCOTT FUNERAL HOME 289 Main St. N. “Brampton Chapel”
(905) 451-1100 on Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 1 pm. In memory of Derek donations made to Bethell House Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
