Celebrating God’s Abundant Grace in the Life of His Child
ANNA GERRY LUEHOF
(September 3, 1926 to January 3, 2017)

Anna Gerry Luehof nee Ferwerda, fondly known as Moeke and Oma, was born on September 3rd 1926 in the small Friesian town of Franeker, The Netherlands. Her family moved from there to Sneek which was where she found the love of her life, Peter Luehof. On November 25, 1947 they were married in Sneek’s renowned city hall, the Gemeente Sneek. The Lord blessed their union with the addition of two boys, Rene and Jack. In May 1958 the family immigrated to Canada. In the following years the family moved often due to Peter’s employment opportunities – from Port Hope to Whitby, to Brampton, to Georgetown, to Mississauga and then back to Brampton. These many moves were very difficult for Anna but she persevered, staying home to raise her boys who meant the world to her. She was trained in home economics which served her well.

Her sons, daughter-in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren all knew how much she loved each one of them. She continually showered them with love and affection and always had a generous heart. Prior to her dementia, she would pray for each one daily by name.

On Monday, January 3rd at the age of 90, after 1 year of what seemed like a long bout of dementia, God called Anna home to be with Him. We are truly thankful for her life, that she is now reunited with her husband, and spending eternity with her Lord Jesus Christ.

She will be dearly missed by her entire family:

Rene and Elaine
-- Tania and Marco VanElven
-- Marcel, Daniel, Damian
-- Danielle and Jeremy Zegers
-- Alyssa
-- Alicia and Andrew Buckley
-- Chailyn, Hailey, Leighton

Jack and Carmen
-- Latitia and Matthew Brace
-- Kianna, Miriam, Simone
-- Troy and Sarah Luehof
-- Joshua, Rykker
-- Marcella

In lieu of flowers, it was Anna’s wish that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
