We announce with great sadness the death of Gwen Adair at the Sunrise Retirement Home, Mississauga on June 13, 2016 at the age of 96. She was predeceased (in 1944) by her husband James Bicknell and (in 2007) by Edward Adair her loving husband of 56 years. She is lovingly remembered by her only child Bonny Ford (Gary) and by her grandchildren, Alison Mullett (Dean), Dr. Meredith Ford (Stephen Mahabir), and Megan McIntyre (Craig) and by her nine great grandchildren, Thomas, Avery and Nicholas Mullett, Caleb, Noah and Maya Mahabir, and Liam, Sam and Rowan McIntyre. Born and raised in Toronto, she lived in Toronto, Brampton and Thornhill until Gwen and Ed retired to Brampton. They were active square dancers, Probus Club members, and members of Christ Church Anglican. They enjoyed many years of cottaging at their Haliburton Cottage. Gwen’s ashes will be interred along side her beloved Edward at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto. Friends are invited to visit the family at 10:00 AM on June 20, 2016, with a celebration of her life to follow at 11:00 AM at the Scott Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel” 289 Main St. N. Brampton ON. We thank all who were so kind to her and gave her such excellent care over the past few months both at Sunrise and at Trillium Health Partners.
