It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Matias on January 10,
2017 at 90 years of age. Matias is re-united in Heaven with his cherished wife Potenciana,
son Efren Rafanan and daughter Macrina Meyer. He was the loving father of Rogelio and his
wife Helen Medina, Efren’s wife Teresita, Lilia and her husband Vicente Pacinos, George and his
wife Remedios, 10 devoted Apos and 8 great Apos. Matias was very proud of his
Filipino heritage. He served his country with honor attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel in the
Philippine military. Matias will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all his family and
friends. Friends will be received at the Scott Funeral Home “Brampton” Chapel, (289 Main
Street North) on Saturday January 14, 2017 and Sunday January 15, 2017 between the hours of
2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Fisher Roman
Catholic Church (300 Balmoral Drive, Brampton) on Monday January 16, 2017 at 10:30 am.
Private Cremation. Matias’ ashes will be laid to rest a later date. Words of comfort, shared
