Percy "Perc" Chantler
January 14, 1929 - July 14, 2016
Percy Ross Chantler Jan 14, 1929 – July 14, 2016
He passed away peacefully in his sleep at Brampton Civic Hospital. Survived by spouse of 59 years Margaret Ruth Chantler (nee Simcoe). Son of the late Arthur George & Violet Edith Ivy Chantler (nee Jones). Survived by his children, Clayton (son) & Lori (partner), Catherine (Daughter) & Michael (spouse), Craig (son) & Kim (spouse). Survived by his beloved Grandchildren, Keira, Cameron, Kayla, Cheyenne, Clayton & Cassidy. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Perc (don’t call me Percy) retired in 1987 after a 37 year career at Ontario Hydro, and was able to enjoy 29 years of mostly healthy retirement. He loved to spend time with his family and on the golf course and if he could combine the two all the better, a senior club champion and proud owner of 2 holes in one.
He looked forward to checking his weekly tickets and trips to Rama to play the slots. Gardening was also a passion and he strived to have the best looking flowers and lawn, lord help you if you parked on his boulevard!
The family would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Mark Quigg and staff of Collingwood for their support for the last 20 years. To the Staff at Greenway Retirement home in Brampton for their loving care of him during these last difficult 6 months. The lovely ladies from CCAC that provided care, Steve Jansen of Bethel Hospice for his spiritual guidance during his final months. Lastly, a special thanks is also extended to the Brameast family Health Organization, especially Dr. Grannie Masterson & Nurse Amanda MacLennan for their advice and guidance and support.
