Rudolph Sicoli
July 29, 1923 - January 23, 2017
It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of our beloved Rudolph on January
23, 2017 at the age of 93 years at the Extendicare Brampton. Rudolph is reunited in Heaven with his
cherished wife of 67 years Gina Grimaldi (2015), his parents Giovanni (1942), Ambrosina Orlando (1972)
and his siblings Armand (1979), Gus (Elliot Lake 2010) and Eva Lavorato (1995). Dear father of John
(Colette) of Brampton. Adored “Nonno” of James (Katherine) of Mississauga and Megan of Guelph. He
will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Rudolph was born in Timmins on
July 29, 1923 but his childhood years were spent in Piane Crati, Cosenza Italy before returning to Canada
in 1937. He was a founding member of the Porcupine Dante Club. He was a great story teller and
enjoyed sharing memories of life in Italy and stories about the mines in the Timmins area. “Rudy” was a
former employee of Preston, Kam Kotia and Kidd Creek Mines. He will be deeply missed by all who knew
him. Friends will be received at the Scott Funeral Home “Brampton” Chapel, (289 Main Street
North, Brampton) on Friday January 27, 2017 from 4 – 8pm. Visitation will continue at the
Miron-Wilson Funeral Home (150 Balsam Street South, Timmins) on Sunday January 29, 2017
from 2 – 5 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Timmins Ont., on Monday January 30 at 10:30 am. Interment in Timmins Memorial Cemetery to
follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Rudolph to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Timmins) would be appreciated by the family.
Words of comfort, shared stories or photos may be left for the family in Rudolph’s online guest
book at www.scottbrampton.ca
